Jan-22-03  AgentRgent: 37...Qd3 is Mate..
Jan-23-03  judokausa1: Even super GM's miss mate in one. Maybe there is a chance for me.
Jan-24-03  GregorMendel: Or maybe Bareev was feeling sadistic and wished to take all of his opponent's pieces (the ol' tactic we all once used to evince an opponent's cry for mercy). Surely Bareev didn't miss Qd3.
Jan-24-03  aulero: Bareev misses the mate in one and there is a very simply reason: both players played the last moves in time trouble.

I'm not completely sure (the clock in live games watched in Internet is unreliable) but both Bareev and Grischuk had more or less 20 seconds on clock when Grischuk resigned.

Nov-30-03  PinkPanther: What is the purpose of playing 7...h5 in this variation, instead of 7...h6. It seems like it just offers that that pawn right up to the knight. Is there any sort of compensation for the loss of this pawn.
Dec-01-03  Spitecheck: The compensation, aesthetically appears to be that the white knight is stuck on the edge of the board for a significant amount of the game (not so much that the knight is on the edge of the board, but it is away from the centre). There are other factors also but that might just be enough for a Grandmaster.
