Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-10-04  Helloween: A well-known opening trap that wins a piece for Black in the Cambridge Springs Defence. 9.Be2 is the main continuation.
Feb-28-05  soberknight: White tastes a "bitter Erb". :)
Feb-01-08  Jesspatrick: Yep. I snagged an up and coming prodigy in a trap like this. I'd submit it, but the game is so lame, like this one.
Oct-25-08  gambitfan: A nice little trap !

Think laterally !

Cambridge Springs !

Mar-19-09  TheTamale: Not sure if I see how this is a "trap"; just really poor play from White (no???). Perhaps he was partaking in the 'erb prior to play...?
Mar-06-10  WhiteRook48: 10 Bxf6?? he actually played Bxf6??

FSR: <WhiteRook48> 10.Bxf6 is about as good as anything else. As <Helloween> said, White loses a piece after 9.Bd3?? If 10.Nxc4 or 10.Bxc4, Black plays 10...Qxg5.
