Feb-28-02  knight: It seems to me that Ivanchuck had a considerable plus toward the end of the game.He had more space on the kingside and control of the c8 square on the queenside.
Mar-30-02  Geefunker: i agree with knight butif they would have played this out i think kasp had it. in the event of a minor-piece ending, kasp would make it his bishop vs one of ivanchuk's knights. the bishop would overpower the knight and kasp would have it. that is assuming that is how the game ends ;)

  Sneaky: Geefunker, Kasparov is black here--in the final position Kasparov has no bishops.

I think what happened here is Ivanchuck played 34. g5 and offered a draw, Garry knew that his position was nothing great so he accepted.
