Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-08-08  Sem: Perhaps 8. d4?
Jun-08-08  Xeroxx: everything but 9.g3?? is ok for white.
Jun-08-08  Xeroxx: basically
Jun-08-08  whiteshark: Basically not <everything> !
Jun-08-08  whiteshark: But, yeah, basically!
Jun-08-08  whiteshark: To pick up the narrow path is moving either 9.Qe1 or 9.d4.
Jun-08-08  whiteshark: quasi.
Jun-08-08  Xeroxx: I vote for 9.d4
Jun-08-08  whiteshark: A good choice!
Oct-24-09  holy tramp: Forget 9.d4, there is no winning response to 7.Pxd5 as far as I can tell.
Oct-24-09  Manic: <holy tramp> 7...Bxf2+ 8.Kf1 Nd4 threatens 9...Bg4. A few options are:

i) 9.Kxf2 Ne4+ 10.Kg1 Qc5
ii) 9.h3 Ne4 threatening 10...Qf6 with discovery
iii) 9.d3 Ng4 threatening 10...Qf6 with discovery
iv) 9.c3 and not that sure but thinking black plays Bg4 and tries for the discovery again giving up the knight.

8.Kxf2 Ne4+ 9.Kf1 Nd4 threatening Qf6+ or 9.Ke1 Qh4+ 10.g3 Nxg3 (10.Kf1 Nd4 as before)

May-30-11  Dr. J: Even 13 d4 keeps White in the game.
