Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-15-04  Jesuitic Calvinist: A very enjoyable battle.

There is a name for this gambit whereby White sacrifices a piece in the opening of the 4 Knights (although usually without 4.a3) - I have had it played against me, but never bothered to find out what it was called.

Anyway, Jonkman led a dance of the pieces to hold onto his extra material in an exciting middle game and eventually found the winning method in the ending.

Oct-15-04  azaris: <There is a name for this gambit> Halloween gambit.
Oct-15-04  Jesuitic Calvinist: Thanks, Azaris - perhaps that means it is scary, but only works once a year?
Oct-15-04  azaris: I think it's because White tries a trick and Black gets the treat.
