Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-12-03  skeet: An uncommon opening indeed!
Sep-14-03  sleepkid: ...yes, a lot of good it did him.
Dec-14-03  MoonlitKnight: This is the Amar opening. An even more curious variation is the Amar gambit: 1.♘h3 d5 2.g3 e5 3.f4?! ♗xh3 5.♗xh3 exf4 5.0-0 fxg3 6.hxg3 ♗d6 7.e4?! This extreme opening was actually played by Tartakower, who claimed it to be playable (an opinion he was as good as alone on). The most dubious opening ever played by a grandmaster?
Jan-06-04  morphyvsfischer: Yes the Amar Gambit is a very fun opening for Black. White should keep his King where it is. Could this be the second-worst opening after 1f3??
Jan-06-04  Giancarlo: <morphyvsfischer>

Nice name, why'd you pick it?

Jan-22-04  skeet: It does look like a bad opening, but at least the e4 square is *very* firmly under White's control by the 8th move.
Jan-22-04  Benjamin Lau: Looks like a mock exaggerated respect for Nimzo's idea of overprotection.
Feb-17-04  Gurch: According to the opening explorer, 1. Nh3 is the only first move which guarantees White will lose 100% of the time. Perhaps some more games should be played like this, if only to adjust the statistics.
Mar-07-04  haha: White try to win with a Uncommon Opening, and try to be a histry make.
Dec-28-05  weisyschwarz: It is also called the Paris Opening, and there is a game of this opening where White won. How does one bring a game to cg.com?

Dec-28-05  weisyschwarz: <WannaBe>, :-) Thanks, I will give it a try. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Dec-28-05  syracrophy: 45.Ke2 Qxb4 winning
Dec-28-05  weisyschwarz: <WannaBe>, what is plycount, and how does one determine it?

WannaBe: <weisyschwarz> 2-plycount means both opponent moved. 1-plycount means only one side moved. On computer programs, Fritz, Shredder, etc. you can set a plycount if you want to analyze a position. So if you put in 30, then you'll get 15 moves from each side.
Dec-30-05  weisyschwarz: Thanks, <WannaBe>.
