Phony Benoni: According the the Nalimov tablebase, the final position is a draw. To see why, let's go back to the position after <46...Rxg5+>:

Our friendly neighborhood TB assures us the only winning move for 47.Rg2! There follows 47...Rh5 48.Rh2 Rg5+ 49.Kh1! Rg8 50.h7 Rh8 51.Rh4! White now marches his king up the h-file behind the rook, which cuts off the Black king along the rank. Eventually, Black will have to give up his f-file blockade, and White's king will walk up the g-file to victory.

Instead, White played <47.Kh1?>. Now 47...Rh5+ 48.Rh2 wins easily, but Sterner played it correctly with <47...Rg8 48.h7> (other moves make no difference) <48...Rh8>, and resigned or ran out of time.

But this is a draw after 49.Rh2 Kf4. White's king cannot stop Black from getting to the g-file and lifting any blockade along the rank.

What happened is that White sacrificed a tempo to win two tempi. 47.Rg2 takes away the ...Rg8 defense; to get it back, Black must play spend two moves on ...Rh5-g5+. That's a net gain of a tempo for White, which kept Black's king on e3 in place until after White plays Rh4.
