Dec-13-08  Chessdreamer: Correction. Tal resigned after 36.Rb3.

perfidious: Well he might: Black is quite lost in the final position, lacking an antidote to the poisonous heavy pieces which will wreak havoc on his king.
Feb-22-17  ChessHigherCat: I think 19...Rxb2 was Tal's mistake. He must have been thinking of the trap 20 Bxe5 d4! Unfortunately for Tal, Gurevich found the miracle move instead: 20. Nxd5!! with a discovered attack on the rook and threatening to destroy black's castle.
Feb-23-17  Nerwal: At this level of play Tal probably didn't miss 20. ♘xd5 but maybe how strong the quiet move 24. ♖c1 really was.

I see, thanks. It must be really nerve-wracking playing against somebody who's so good that you always think "Well he's certainly anticipated A, B, C and D, so he must have other some dirty trick up his sleeve...", although that's how we probably all feel now when we play against good software.

Jun-21-23  jonvonson: Found this as a tactic from chesstempo starting from 28...Re8,unbelievable that white had to have spotted this starting from 20.Nd5 !!
Jun-21-23  jonvonson: actually i take that back, from 20 nxd5 you only had to see until move 24 to realize that white is crushing
