Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-14-06  MorphyMatt: Isn't 11. ♗a3 better, to prevent black from castling?
Feb-19-07  ImmorTAL: Good Day.

17. d6!?
17. Ba3+!!... I think Steinitz saw that, but was having too much fun...hehe

May-22-07  aazqua: Ba3 certainly screams to be played. Reiner seemed particularly good at losing to Steinitx. These guys played about 1800 level chess in those days.
May-26-07  waves00: I let my computer chew on it for an hour; 11. Bb2 is still better. White couldn't deal with 11 ... Bd4.
May-26-07  THE pawn: < These guys played about 1800 level chess in those days.>

Are you actually saying that Steinitz would be rated 1800?

Jan-08-10  funkymihir: naaaa. steinitz must be at lest rated above 2600
Jan-08-10  markwell: At the peak of his career, Chessmetrics rates him at 2826. The man could play.
