Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-05-11  Ulhumbrus: After 9 a4 Lasker does not play ...a5 himself but plays the manoeuvre 11...Nc6 and 15...Nb4 to support the advance 16...d5.
Sep-05-11  andrewjsacks: Zubarev did not play very strongly and was obviously several steps below the aging Lasker.
Sep-05-11  Petrosianic: So, in other words, Lasker won the game. Pretty daring opinion there.
Sep-05-11  Calli: Lasker's 31...Bd6? grants a reprieve since White could have played 32.Bd4 and avoided the game continuation. Black had the immediate 31...Bxc5.
Sep-07-11  Ulhumbrus: <Calli: Lasker's 31...Bd6? grants a reprieve since White could have played 32.Bd4 and avoided the game continuation. Black had the immediate 31...Bxc5.> On 32 Bd4 Black has an interesting exchange sacrifice: 32...Re4 eg 33 Nxe4 dxe4 and with the QB on d4 instead of on c5 White can't play 34 Bxd6

Phony Benoni: We may have a score error here which would affect the last two comments. After <24.Bg2>:

"American Chess Bulletin", January 1926, p. 5-6, gives <24...Bc7> instead of 24...Be7. I think this is probably correct, since after <24...Be7 25.Rdc1 Rbd8>:

White has the obvious 26.Bxb6, which would not be available after 24...Bc7.
