  Clement Fraud: I am confused: why did Timman play the moves 10... Ndf6, 11... Nh5, 12... f5 & 14... Nhf6 (????)

Surely it would have made more sense to play 10... f5 and 11... Ndf6 - thus saving two tempi!?

Oct-06-19  Retireborn: <Clement> Informator says that with 10...Ndf6 Black is threating ...Ng4 (with an attack on f2); presumably the idea is to get White to weaken his K-side with 11.h3. I'd say that your plan with 10...f5 is equally playable though.

Incidentally I was surprised to notice that Miles and Timman never played each other after 1986. Shows how relatively brief Tony's reign as top British player was.
