Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-17-08  wrap99: Isn't this both an interesting and significant game worthy of annotation? A veteran beating a GM in his prime...
Apr-13-14  zanzibar: Here is a link to Arthur Bisguier's Sept 5, 1984 article in CSM (Christian Science Monitor), w annotations. He calls it the best game of the match.

Bisguiser notes 13...NxBg3 with "[f]or a player of Christiansen's strength, this is a severe misjudgment. Apparently he forgets that White is under no compulsion to castle and that the open KR file can be used against him."

My engine actually likes 13...Nxg3, and scores the move 0.00.

Apr-13-14  perfessor: It is interesting that throughout the attack, Reshevsky never moves the king or QR, and they end up in the perfect position to close off the mating net. Black is mated on e3.
Apr-13-14  zanzibar: Oops, I forgot the link:

Aug-07-20  Gaito: If instead of 35....Kxg4, Black had played 35....Kxf4, then 36.Ne6+ Kxg4 37.Qg5+ Kh3 38.Rd3+ Kh2 39.Qh4+ Kg1 40.Rg3 mate. An impressive game by Reshevsky at the age of 73!
