WHITE TO MOVE

After 6.Qe2?! White relinquished the opening edge. He could have held the upper hand with 6.dxe4 Nxe4 7.Ngf3, for example: 7...Nd7 8.Bd3 Nxd2 9.Bxf5 Nxf3+ 10.Qxf3, and White has a clear plus (see diagram below):

WHITE TO MOVE

8.cxb4?? was a horrible blunder. Correct was 8.dxe4, for example: 8...Re8!? (suggested by engine Komodo 13) 9.cxb4 Bxe4 10.Nxe4 Rxe4 11.Be3 Qe7 12.O-O-O Rxe3 13.Qd2 with an unclear game; see diagram below:

White resigned in this position. A likely conclusion might have been 12.Kf3 Qh4! (even stronger than 12...Bg4+ which also wins) 13.Ke3 Qf2+ 14.Kxd3 Nd2+ 15.Kc3 Re3+! 16.Nxe3 Qxe3+ 17.Bd3 Qxd3 mate.
