Imho Raymond Keen and then CG have recently adopted the name "Fischer variation" instead of the older "Saint Petersburg variation" (at least Alekhine and Nimzowitsch had played this variation -as Black- during the relevant 1914 famous tournament) or Kasparov's/Keen's BCO "Nimzowitsch variation" name! I wonder who was the first player that had adopted that variation back at 1914; Aron Nimzowitsch or AAA? |

For the history Victor Korchnoi (at the 1976 edition of his "Chess is my life", that is before Garry Kasparov's rise...) had stated that he considered the true masters of the attack to be Alekhine, Keres and Spassky, not a certain Mikhail ... whom he considered "a stereotyped attacker" ... because Korchnoi himself had been a miraculous defender!! Well, at this very game Boris Spassky (who might be not in the same opinion with Victor the Terrible) did his best to secure a draw but he had to resign after Keres' 25th move!...

"That carries weight with me" might mean "It's important to me", or "You're making a good point", etc. When you want a person to do their fair share of a job, you'll tell them they need to carry their own weight. A lot of other similar usages. |

After 17.f3 it is clear that White has all the fun.
The rest of the game is Black being an overpowered boxer who still hangs around, hoping to hit with some lucky punch through a failing parade, that never comes. |
