Honza Cervenka: Excellent game of Antoshin. He sacrificed an exchange for the long-term initiative. Activity of his minor pieces was very unpleasant for black. Later Keres returned the exchange (or overlooked it) playing 29...Rc8, but Antoshin kept the initiative and won the game quickly. Keres could have tried 29...Bxd5, but after 30.exd5 Qh5 (covering directly Ph7 and indirectly Pc4) 31.Re1 Ra4 32.Nd6 white has an advantage too.

Benzol: Is Antoshin still alive? Korchnoi regarded him as a KGB informer but games like this one show what a powerful opponent he could be.

Honza Cervenka: I don't know exactly but according to http://xoomer.virgilio.it/cserica/s... Vladimir Antoshin died in 1994.

  Benzol: Thanks <Honza>.
Mar-13-20  King.Arthur.Brazil: Following <HONZA> line, after 32.♘d6, the Black can still try to survive with 32...♖b4 when (33.♘xc4? is impossible due to ...♖c8). White has better position, but the way to win is not clear, yet. However, I propose 32.♘d4 (Since 32...♕xd5 33. ♕xh7+ ♔f7 34. ♗e4! ♕d6 35. ♘f5 and win. After 32...♘xd4 33.♕xa4, the sacrifice 33...♘f3+ 34. gxf3 ♕xf3 35. ♕c2 doesn't find perpetual check. Also 32...♖b8 33. ♘xb3 cxb3 34. ♕c6 or 33...♖xb3 34.♕e4... with threat of 35.♗c2 and 35.♕e6+ which seems very unpleasant to Black.
