Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-09-08  Helios727: What happens after 78... Nxf3 ?
Jun-09-08  nolanryan: helios: 79 rc6, with the deadly rxf6 to follow
Jun-09-08  maxxowar: 78...Rc6 and the white rook will break through f6.
Oct-12-08  DWINS: Is this the correct gamescore? I have Robert Byrne's column in the New York Times from 6/16/1983 where he annotates this game.

He writes, "The game was adjourned with Karpov sealing the move 41.Nc6! in the referee's official envelope. Neither 41...Bxc6 42.bxc6, nor 41...Qd7 42.Nxd4! Nc3 43.Qd3 Nxb1? 44.Nde2! would offer Black any chance to save the game. Beliavsky, apparently feeling sure of what lay ahead, gave up without resuming play."

This gamescore gives 41. Ne2 with the game going on for 37 more moves.

Nov-14-20  fisayo123: This is the complete game as far as I know. I think the moves were added on a later date.

Nevertheless, complex Ruy Lopez battle. The Zaitsev was all the rage around this time thanks primarily to the exploits of these two players.
