Aug-28-04  DanielBryant: Doesn't 79...f1=Q 80.Qc1 Qa1+ 81.Kxa1 Qxc1+ force perpetual?
Aug-29-04  acirce: <Doesn't 79...f1=Q 80.Qc1 Qa1+ 81.Kxa1 Qxc1+ force perpetual?> It even leads to a Q+p vs Q endgame for Black if he wants to. Still draw though. Why would Black play a king move instead of promoting the pawn with check at all? Game score incorrect or extremely severe time trouble? 79.e8=N+! is a simple win.

OhioChessFan: Skembris is quite creative in his opening choices. I'd guess time trouble at the end, but even at blitz, any decent player would Queen a pawn with check.
Aug-01-05  Kangaroo: In my opinion, <1. g4> is an example of bad taste.

Even slightly worse than <1. b4>

May-27-08  prinsallan: <Kangaroo> Yeah, but you gotto admit it leads to exiting games.
Aug-06-12  Abdel Irada: <prinsallan: <Kangaroo> Yeah, but you gotto admit it leads to exiting games.>

On the other hand, in this case Black exited prematurely for reasons unknown.
