Oct-17-05  Poisonpawns: <chessgames>this is gm 2 of their canidates match in Riga.Ok 14 moves theory in the 2 knights after move 18 pos.looks dynamically equal black has 2 bishop white has little better structure.Maybe 19.Bxb6 is better to stop black from playing e4.22.Rxa6!? Na4! and Rxb2.25.Na5? white goes down fast maybe Rd2 is better.35.Qxc7?? allows the mean tactical blow at the end and you can all see the mating attack but Yudasin didnt see it and grabbed a pawn.
Apr-22-08  outplayer: White is not lost in the final position.
Apr-22-08  erad1288: white is lost, after Qxa7 black has Bxh2+ and if kx then Qh5+ Kg1 Qg4 g3 Qh3 and Qg2 mate. If whit refuses the bishop with Kh1 then Qg6 and everything is again threatened g3 leads to Qh6 and mate, Rg1 Bxg1 and again g2 is threatened, and nothing else even comes close to working. Basically, white loses his bishop for nothing or gets mated.
Apr-23-08  outplayer: <erad1288> yes, allright. Thanks.
