May-17-13  My Face: @whiteshark how does 36.R1e6+ win?
May-17-13  whiteshark: <My Face> After the forced sequence <36.R1e6+ Kf5 37.Re5+! Rxe5 38.Rxe5+ Kxe5 39.c8=Q>

white has a material surplus (of ♕♙♙:♖♗) and some nasty threats (40.Qh8+ or 40.Qc5+), too.

Here you just have to take care that you don't get backrank-mated.

May-17-13  Shams: <My Face> 36.R1e6+ Kg5 37.Re5+ forces promotion but the attempt to gain luft with f4+ or h4+ doesn't work due to Black's Rb4. Perhaps <whiteshark> missed the back rank threats.
May-17-13  whiteshark: <Shams: Perhaps <whiteshark> missed the back rank threats.> Say what?
May-17-13  Shams: <whiteshark> Black plays 37...Bxe5 in your line.
May-17-13  whiteshark: Oops, I can't think what came over me.
May-17-13  Shams: <whiteshark> Happens to me more than anyone on this site, trust me.
