Sep-21-04  Knight13: 6. Bg5? A bad move. 22. Nd5 would have been better than 22. Bg2?. Loss of the rook is sad.

Chessical: <Knight13> The reason why <22. Nd5> was not played is it is illegal. The only practicable move to avoid mate is <Bg2> as played. <22. Nd6> would allow mate.
Sep-22-04  percyblakeney: 22.Nxd5 is legal, but will lose to exf1Q# 22. Nd6 is less legal, though... :)
Nov-20-04  Knight13: Very Dangerous opening Bird had faced.
Oct-16-05  Knight13: A very terrible and upseting game for Mr. Bird.
Aug-27-06  Chess Carnival: From Gambit is too dangerous for white, thats the reason I no longer play the bird's 1.f4
Jan-03-08  consafo: If bird plays 6.Qd3, a standard move in from gambit, he would probably have a nice game
Nov-22-08  YoungEd: Blackburne is downright garrulous in this game compared to usual! :) Even I could have written "the loss of the rook is decisive," though. I agree with <Knight13> tha 6. Bg5 was the stinker.
