Sep-18-04  Knight13: 17. Rxa8 is not a good idea because 17... Qxa8 controlls the h file and also follows Qa2. GOod game.
Jun-17-09  prinsallan: Nicely played in the end here by Alekhine.
Jun-12-13  Harmonicus: This is an awesome attacking game from Alekhine, 11...Bb7 is a nice positional sacrifice of a pawn in order to gain activity, after that every single black move is a strong and forcing threat
Jul-19-15  ToTheDeath: Fantastic attack, crisp and clear. Very Alekhine! ...b5! and ...Be4!! are great shots.

MissScarlett: Hmmm, I wonder how the game really ended.
Jul-19-15  ToTheDeath: Why MissScarlett! Are you implying Dr. Alekhine was anything but honorable in relaying the exact score of his games? Perish the thought!
Aug-29-15  daveggg: A great attack with 100% efficiency by Dr. Alekhine
Oct-21-19  Smite: Surprised that this game doesn't get more attention. Very nice!

GrahamClayton: von Freymann must have been shocked to see 9...b5 after he thought he had stopped Alekhine playing that move with 9. a4.

kingscrusher: The sacrifice header column for this game doesn't mention the pawn sacrifice. I wonder if that could be made more sophisticated. E.g. game 4 of :

search "Freymann vs Alekhine"

And there is no sacrifice mentioned in the column "Sacrifice"
