Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-04-05  azi: Capa obviously went right for the draw. Fine had made quite an impression on him, it would seem.
Jan-27-06  sleepkid: In the final note on this one it should read "collection" and not "connection". Just wanted to make that "correction."

Jan-29-06  aw1988: The final annotation is amusing.
Jan-13-08  paladin at large: <azi><Capa obviously went right for the draw. Fine had made quite an impression on him, it would seem.>

Fine had already made a big impression on everybody. It is Fine who is being timid here, not Capa. This is the 14th and next to last round of one of the closest tournaments in history. Capa is tied for first when they play here; Fine is slightly behind and is the one who really needs the win.

Jan-13-08  RookFile: In a tournament like this, a draw is a perfectly good result, even for the tournament leader. Given the way Fine played, Capa saw no reason not to take the draw with black.
Jun-20-10  black.pr0jekt: slav defense is overrated
Oct-17-12  wordfunph: Capablanca offered a draw on the 6th
move and Reuben Fine accepted on the 20th.

perfidious: <aw1988: The final annotation is amusing.>

Charming little potshot by Alekhine at his old adversary.

Jun-02-17  Saniyat24: <perfidious> lol...'require' would have been a much better word than 'deserve'...!
