Phony Benoni: OK, the pun obviously refers to the book by 60's political activist Abbie Hoffman, <Steal This Book>.

But I'm not sure this game is appropriate, though there are some interesting moments and it does have a bit of a counterculture feel to it.

May-23-11  sevenseaman: <counterculture feel?> Over my head.
May-23-11  consul: Why did Black played
25 .. Rg8 and not Bxf3?
May-23-11  rilkefan: I wondered about 29...Rh1 or ...h3.
May-23-11  cunctatorg: The game looks great indeed; however today, 2011 May 23rd is the day of Anatoly Karpov's birthday: he became 60 years old...

Please do not put Michael Hoffmann and Lajos Seres against Anatoly; it's unfair for both Michael and Lajos ... and all "mere mortals"!

May-23-11  Dyonis: < Consul > After 25. ... Bxf3 26. Bxf7+ and after 26. ... Kxf7 27.Rf6 + !!

Domdaniel: 'Steal this Book' was the Yippie Facebook. I still have a copy that I, um, borrowed and never gave back. Is that stealing?

Maybe 25...Bxf3 26. Rf6 instead which keeps the Black King pinned up.

May-23-11  Ratt Boy: <Dyonis>: ...And after that, 27...♔e7 28.♖xf3, ♔e6 29.♖e3, ♖c8+ 30.♔d2, ♖c5, and I'm not sure that White is winning here. I guess 31.♖b3, b5 32.♖a3 picks off a little guy, but I'd rather face that as Black than the stuff that he encountered.

Penguincw: Darn. By the sound of this pun, I was hoping the game would end in zugzwang.
May-23-11  lentil: Personally, I prefer the title "If you don't buy this rook we'll kill this dog" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:N...
May-23-11  kevin86: It looked like black was trying to be cute with the rook-instead,he ran out of gas.
May-23-11  E41AND14E: Agreed, Phony Benoni. Steal this Book was about stealing from "The Man" with impunity. Here, the Rook is offered, twice, and only so the Black Q can grab the White R.
