Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-05-04  PizzatheHut: How does white win after 16...Nf8? Did black resign simply because it would be a long, probably impossible defense in the face of a kingside pawnstorm?
Aug-05-04  Dudley: That's what it looks like to me. If I was playing white, I would probably castle O-O and advance my f pawn to get the KR in the game. Black should have played 3...dxe4 instead of 3...e6, which was way too passive, and then play Nbd7 followed by Nf6 as in the Steinitz variation.
Aug-30-20  Cheapo by the Dozen: The game was properly resigned, so this is a very quick and fun win by Nunn.

Flying Nunn.

Aug-30-20  Granny O Doul: I wonder why Black didn't follow 7....b6 with 8...Ba6. I guess he feared 9. Nh5 but castling seems an adequate response.

Instead, he never castles and never develops the QB. Bet he's sorry now.

May-01-24  YoungEd: <PizzatheHut's> question gets answered by Stockfish, I guess. Yes, it looks like a White pawn storm will carry the day. I don't understand Black's resistance to ...c5 earlier in the game.
