Aug-14-07  Maynard5: The key to White's endgame victory here is the advanced pawn on f6. Black cannot simultaneously defend both the pawns on f7 and e5. The players are notable in that they came from opposite sides of the British class system. Sir George Thomas was an aristocrat, while William Winter was a left-wing political activist from a very proletarian background.
