Sep-20-06  Tomlinsky: This was one of Botvinnik's earliest games with the French.
Dec-07-07  Sularus: This is Botvinnik's first loss in this database.

maxi: Bohatirchuck seems to have played four times with Botvinnik, winning three times and drawing once! These damned Kiev players...!

maxi: Unfortunately, collaborating with the Nazis had made him famous in the USSR after the war and he had to disappear.

GrahamClayton: <Tomlinsky>his was one of Botvinnik's earliest games with the French.

Tomlinsky,
This was Botvinnik's first appearance in the USSR Championship, at the age of 16.

Mar-16-15  Conrad93: Playing the 'Eingorn Variation' before Eingorn was even born.
Jun-02-22  tbontb: Black in a sharp variation of the French defence, the young Botvinnik plays inaccurately with 5....Kf8 (better ....Ne7) then 15....Nf7, after which White Bohatirchuk has a clear advantage. Botvinnik defends valiantly but is unable to stem the tide against Bohatirchuk's forceful play.
