Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-25-03  dippel: Amazing performance by Anand. After 42...Rg2 he decided that this game was going to be a draw. He tells that he saw the stalemate! after 42…Rg2. A nice move 43. a5!! sacrificing his queen. And notice 53. a7! forcing the stalemate!
May-07-04  vajrabhrt: I guess 32...Bxd4 would lead to perpetual checks by Anand. Am I right? Or is there even a winning line?
May-07-04  AdrianP: <vajrabhrt> 32... Bxd4 33 Qxd4+ and, as you say, the White Q can keep checking on d8, d4 and h4 as appropriate, the K cannot go to g6 without dropping the R. I don't see anything better for Anand though.
Nov-13-04  paulmurphy: "Amazing performance" ? Amazing double blunder 32 Nd4? Kg6? We weekies can find 32 Qxb7, and 32 ...Bd5. Take the Bishop! Save the Bishop!
Apr-07-05  Per: But wouldn´t 38...Kg7! have won for Black..?
Apr-07-05  Kangaroo: 38. ... Kg7. 39. Bxc8 - I doubt if Black can make a draw, not to mention a victory.
Apr-07-05  Boomie: <paulmurphy> 32. ♕xb7 c3 33. ♕xb6 ♘d2 is winning for black. In fact, there are no saving moves for white here.
Oct-17-05  Poisonpawns: gm 2 of the 1991 canidates shows amazing performance Nice stalemate to save the game.Alot of tactics and an amazing draw.Dreev gave up his queen in 2 games in a row vs Anand!
Sep-30-07  xeroxmachine: Anand then they Dreev! HAHAHAAHA! ermhg *cough*
Nov-07-07  Ragh: Looks like Anand had this stalemate calculated at least 12 moves in advance, else he wouldn't risk his queen like that on the back rank.
Oct-14-08  Poisonpawns: One of the Best and exciting matches you never knew about 1991 Dreeve vs Anand
Sep-19-09  Cercatore: Omg why draw game?

2 paws and 1 bishop... he can try to win.

Sep-19-09  Everett: STALEMATE
