15 games, 1938-2007 - Holding the Fort
When it comes to the greatest tournament performances of all time, often there has been a fly in the ointment. While the man on fire has blitzed the field, one player has managed to survive the onslaught. Did they just strike it lucky - was the in-form player momentarily taking their foot off the pedal? Or did they somehow raise their game in a way that the others couldn't?

| 4 games, 1899 - Mikhail Tal's best games 1956-1961
Tal's early career is one of the true phenomena of chess history. From modest beginnings, Tal suddenly set the chess world alight in the late 50s with his own brand of super-combinational chess. His frenzied style was to take him all the way to victory in the 1960 world championship. In 1961 however, his health began to decline. The return match for the world championship was lost, and he spent the next decade battling against himself. This collection is a celebration of the brilliance of the young Tal, covering what I consider his 30 best games from this period. This collection is still being constructed.

| 35 games, 1956-1961 - Mind games and tactical gems
This is a collection of 24 games both famous, and almost unknown. There is an emphasis on grand tactical battles and in particular Tal. A perfectly engineered tactical sequence is something awe inspiring; but I equally enjoy the use of psychology to outwit the opponent. All that matters in chess is to win the game, so playing to your strengths and your opponent's weaknesses can essentially be cleverer than to attempt objectivity. Hence, I've included some significant psychological duels in the collection, each time with a comment to indicate it as such. Explore and enjoy!

| 25 games, 1896-2003 - Perfect 10s
Using a scoring system for playing quality/accuracy that I have developed, these are the rare games where one of the players achieved the score 10/10. No such scoring system can be completely objective, as what constitutes the best move in a given position seldom has a precise answer. Nonetheless, I have tried to do my best. In each of these games, the indicated player produced no real inaccuracies, while showing great ingenuity. I look forward to finding more such games!
