The 2nd European Women's Team Championship was contested between 30 national teams (incl. the Croatia B team) in the Histria hotel in Punta Verudela, Pula, Croatia from 6-14 May 1997. It was a 9-round Swiss system tournament organized by the Croatian Chess Federation and the European Chess Union. Each "team" consisted of two players plus one reserve.
