—————————————————————————————————————————— Eleven rounds in 12 days, starting on Thursday 31 July. Rest day (including a blitz tournament won by Lundin): 7 August. This group started three days earlier than the rest because FIDE was now involved and there was a demand of no double rounds. The winner would not only become Nordic Champion but also earn a spot in the Saltsjobaden Interzonal (1948). Böök and Stoltz ended =1st, and the Böök - Stoltz (1947) match followed, before the next Nordic Congress, Örebro (1948).The Nordic Congress was formally opened on Sunday 3 August, when the Masters tournaments (1 & 2) and the Class 1 tournaments (1, 2 & 3) began. Masters 1 was won by Toivo Salo, ahead of Olof Sterner (2nd), Bertil Sundberg, Matti Rantanen and Keijo Blomberg (=3rd), and Masters 2 was won by Gunnar Magnusson, ahead of Ilmari Solin (2nd) and Bjorn Hult (3rd). Salo and Solin could not play in the top group ("Landslagsklassen") because it had a limit of 12 players. Sources
