Stylistically and temperamentally Nakamura has an edge on Navara but this is above expectation given their rating difference so good for him to gain some rating points and avoid the pressure cooker of the Norwegian media and Carlsen. I heard about both his participation in this event and his declining Norway around the same time several months ago. Glad to see him playing well though after the 6 weeks off since Gashimov. Jun-09-14    redwhitechess: I like this Navara dude. Every year he challenges big player for a duel. We the fans keep happy. It will be nice if he can score some goal here. He should play for the win with white tomorrow and try to grab a a few more rating points while the others toil away in Norway. Jun-10-14    SirRuthless: Navara was 2730 at the start of this event so its not like the rating difference was that big. 3.5-0.5 is not justified by 50 point rating difference. Jul-08-14    eternaloptimist: Well Naka crushed Navara but that's obviously not surprising. Navara plays brilliantly sometimes & other times he doesn't play that well. Naka also normally plays very well in fast time controls so when he's short on time he can still rack up wins.
