sisyphus: The official site is the Prague Chess Society, http://praguechess.cz. Among other things there is an article with Vlastimil Hort talking about the "sinful chessplayers of Prague."
Jun-08-14  SirRuthless: Nakamura wins a KID in round one from the black side. He wins a QGD from the white side in round two.
Jun-08-14  gabriel112000: He won both games in 46 moves!
Jun-08-14  SirRuthless: Interesting statistic. Stylistically and temperamentally Nakamura has an edge on Navara but this is above expectation given their rating difference so good for him to gain some rating points and avoid the pressure cooker of the Norwegian media and Carlsen.
Jun-08-14  jsy: Do we know if Nakamura committed to Prague before Norway was scheduled? Or did he consciously choose Prague over Norway?
Jun-08-14  SirRuthless: We don't know. I heard about both his participation in this event and his declining Norway around the same time several months ago. Glad to see him playing well though after the 6 weeks off since Gashimov.
Jun-09-14  redwhitechess: I like this Navara dude. Every year he challenges big player for a duel. We the fans keep happy. It will be nice if he can score some goal here.
Jun-09-14  SirRuthless: So Nakamura draws round 3 and secures the tournament victory with at least 2.5 points. He should play for the win with white tomorrow and try to grab a a few more rating points while the others toil away in Norway.
Jun-10-14  SirRuthless: Nakamura found himself in this position and went on to win

Jun-10-14  Jambow: Nice showing by Nakamura but he is able to dominate 2700ish players if not 2800ish.
Jun-10-14  SirRuthless: Navara was 2730 at the start of this event so its not like the rating difference was that big. 3.5-0.5 is not justified by 50 point rating difference. It was just a nice performance.
Jun-10-14  waustad: <redwhite> Does your nick have anything to do with Poland? If it were <redwhitered> I'd say you were probably Austrian.
Jun-11-14  gokusano: Nice tactics by Naka. Rating game is also a tactical battle. You have to plan carefully to improve your rating, and naka is doing just fine.
Jun-12-14  Absentee: Impressive result. I'll have to play through these games.
Jun-14-14  1d410: Bad tournament timing: smack in the middle of Norway Chess, which I really liked.

eternaloptimist: Well Naka crushed Navara but that's obviously not surprising. Navara plays brilliantly sometimes & other times he doesn't play that well. Naka also normally plays very well in fast time controls so when he's short on time he can still rack up wins.
