Dec-08-12  waustad: They are playing now!
Dec-11-12  whiteshark: There's now a 'winter break' until Febr 2, 2013.
Dec-13-12  whiteshark: The games of rd 3-6 have been uploaded and are now available...
Feb-01-13  whiteshark: Winter break is over and tomorrov round 7 will start at 14:00 hrs CET

http://bundesliga.liveschach.net/

Feb-03-13  whiteshark: Today it took Aronian only 4 minutes to beat GM Michael Prusikin in 30 moves with the black pieces.
Feb-03-13  waustad: There are several serious beatdowns going on today, with teams ahead by scores of 4-0 or 5 1/2 - 1/2.
Feb-03-13  waustad: http://bundesliga.liveschach.net/
Feb-03-13  waustad: The upset of this round must be Leon Mons beating Naiditsch using the Smith-Morra gambit.
Feb-18-13  waustad: How do they work out payment for the player in leagues? Is there a retainer to be on the team + a per game fee + bonus for wins, or do they find some other way to arrange it? I've noted that some top players are "on a team" but never play in the league. Are they just being payed a retainer fee so that they won't be faced?
Feb-23-13  whiteshark: Round 9 will start in 20 minutes: http://bundesliga.liveschach.net/
Feb-23-13  waustad: The evals for Fridman v McShane went from 0.00 to -1000 in one move. I suspect there was some horizon effect going on there. Q v Q+p endgames are really tough. Just because it is mate in 35 doesn't mean that will happen, especially with clocks running on vapors.
Feb-23-13  mprodrigues: btw, what happened in this game? The site says its a draw but it seems like a clear win for McShane
Feb-23-13  waustad: The last pawn push was 97.) ... b2. Fridman survived for 50 moves with nothing taken and no pawn push. I expect that with more time McShane could have figured it out, but by move 147, they'd have been playing on the increment for quite a while.
Feb-24-13  jamesmaskell: From the look of todays live feed, Anatoly Karpov is playing White against Alekseev. Nice suprise this morning. Game kicks off in about 20 mins.
Feb-24-13  Shams: Per wikipedia, it's been eight years since any team other than OSC Baden-Baden has won the Bundesliga title. That's quite a streak. Are there not team rating ceilings in Bundesliga play?
Feb-24-13  waustad: With a 2690 player on board 7 it seems that there is no rating cap. They win in the Frauenbundesliga too. One difference is that those games seem to be owned by sponsors if the [Owner: ... ] tag in the png is any indication, so they aren't usable on a site like this. I've blundered into a few of them here: http://www.rochade.de/live.htm but it may depend on the local venue hosting the games. I've seen some from Hamburg too, but I can't find the link now. They may be ephemeral.
Feb-24-13  waustad: OSG Baden Baden in the Frauenbundesliga has 3 players who have played on the "men's" team in Olympiads. Viktorija Čmilytė played 3rd board for Lithuania, Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant has played 2nd board for Scotland and Eva Moser played first board for Austria. Is Greinke the sponsor for the Bundesliga team too?
Mar-15-13  waustad: The Bundesliga will start an hour before the candidates tomorrow.
Apr-02-13  waustad: The next action by the 2700 club will be this weekend in the Bundesliga. All of the games from the Frauenbundesliga season that just ended are available from the site: http://teleschach.de/bundesliga/bl-...
Apr-04-13  waustad: The next round starts at 16:00 CET on Friday.
Apr-06-13  waustad: After another crush today, Baden-Baden just needs a win tomorrow to go +15=0-0.
