Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-10-09  Appaz: I suggest keeping the lies to Odd Lie, although he is a relative.

This is a soon-to-be GM, the Norwegian Champion of 2007 and the younger brother of GM Kjetil A Lie.

Jun-29-09  frogbert: and of course: appaz' comment was not a lie - that comment of mine referred to a now deleted post.

espen is one of two very sympathetic brothers who both happen to be among norway's 10 best players. with espen's development the last couple of years, he seems poised to become gm soon - and then these brothers will probably be among the currently top strongest sibling-pairs in chess.

does anyone have a list of currently active sibling-gms? at the moment, neither of judith and susan seem to be very active (even if judith technically is active in fide's rating list sense). it would be interesting if anyone kept such a list! :o)

Jun-29-09  Appaz: I also posted a reply, mentioning Jon Ludvig Hammer as <the> favourite for the Norwegian Ch., but that was also deleted. Our previous posts where restored on my complaint, but only the first two.

Sergei Zhigalko and Andrey Zhigalko are quite strong. although they haven't made the progress I expected.

Jun-29-09  frogbert: yes, carlsen has played sergei zhigalko in some youth event(s) i think, way back when.

it would be fun with a "complete" list for say top 20 active sibling-pairs or something...

Aug-30-18  wordfunph: GM in 2017.
