Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-30-09  missionmankiwi: Grant Kerr played his early chess in Dunedin, New Zealand, and played for New Zealand at 2 Olympiads. He also earned some temporary fame when during the 1970s in Dunedin he and local player Aldous Skuja set what was then the world record for continuous 5 minute chess playing. (They took on all comers and when there was no other opposition played against each other.) The record has since been eclipsed. I saw part of this marathon.

Grant was an aggressive player who as White played Scotch Gambits and Morra Gambits when given the opportunity.

Tabanus: <John Saunders> You mean Alan G Grant, and 1994 to <2010>, right? I could make CG fix that.

(2014 game is from NZ)
