Jul-11-15  fgh: <dumbgai: Bu Xiangzhi is the Chinese Leko>

I thought that was Ding Liren.

Petrosian Memorial (2014)

Jul-11-15  cro777: Wang Yue won the tournament with 7.0/9, a full point ahead of Ni Hua, reminding us of how strong a player he used to be (for a while he seemed to be China's Magnus Carlsen).

http://www.chess.com/news/wang-yue-...

With a positional playing style he differs from other top Chinese players (mainly attackers). His decisions are based on logic (and precise calculations), yet he is extremely emotional. The famous photo showing him crying while hugging his teammate after China managed to win the 2014 Olympiad says a lot about his strong emotions.

Jul-11-15  Fish55: <Eduardo Leon> That's funny, aren't Wang Chen and Lu Shanglei Chinese? They're the ones covered with footprints.
Jul-11-15  Alien Math: <Jul-10-15 Eduardo Leon: Team barbarian has scored only one win, and it was against the other barbarian! :-p

Jul-11-15 Eduardo Leon: Finally a team barbarian victory against a Chinese player, but, overall, the Chinese have stomped the field.>

Are this suppose to have some meaning about the tournament?

Jul-11-15  Eduardo Leon: <Fish55> <Alien Math> Only Lu Shanglei lost against a non-Chinese in this event.
Jul-11-15  shintaro go: Ding liren is either Naka or Radjabov
Jul-11-15  MindCtrol9: Lazaro Bruzon is a good player, the 2nd after Leinier Dominguez, but he must quit drinking a little and his chess would be much much better. He is aggressive and has good ideas.Alekhine lost the title because smoking and drinking, but what happened in the rematch? Everybody knows that.I'm a cuban and I hate to see Bruzon not being serious playing chess.
Jul-11-15  ex0duz: Congrats to Wang Yue, seems like he's back in shape. I hope he can get back to 2750 and take his place as China's best or top 3. It's nice to have a player of his style to give us some variety compared with the rest of the younger chinese players who are ultra aggressive and tactical monsters.

<@MindCtrol9:> Is Bruzon an alcoholic or something like Alekhine? haha. Or are we talking about maybe like Grischuk or something, who just likes a drink/smoke but who can still play at like 2780~ level while always in time trouble? lol

How do you know all this? Has his drinking 'problem' been made public somehow? Or are you just finding excuses and blaming his bad play on the alcohol and not him? If you wanna drink, you can. But you shouldn't blame your losses or bad form on your decision to drink every once in awhile.. does he drink or get drunk and have hangovers etc during tournaments even?

Jul-11-15  Fish55: <Eduardo Leon> So what? The event was held in China and there were only two non-Chinese players, both of whom appear to be past their prime.
Jul-12-15  fgh: <two non-Chinese players, both of whom appear to be past their prime>

Sasikiran's rating performance was 2640, exactly the same as his rating.

http://www.chess.com/news/wang-yue-...

Jul-12-15  Fish55: <fgh> Interesting that -1 is as expected given Sasikira's 2640 rating. It would have been disappointing a few years ago when his rating was 2720.
Jul-12-15  MindCtrol9: Yes <exOduz> he, drinks a lot when he is back from any tournament.I do know it.He could be much better if the drinking habit he could be capable to quit.Remember I'm a cuban and I would like he quit drinking. He is a regular guy who likes to drink, but his chess would be a lot better. If he would be living in a country where the stress of living be a little better,he and Leinier would be amazing players.
Jul-12-15  MindCtrol9: <exOdus> If he quit drinking, he would be better than me lol.ME: against a guy from IRAN I have White: 1.Nf3 c5 2.e4 d6 3.d4 cx d4 4.Nx d4 Nf6 5..N c3 e6 6.Be3 Be7 7.g4(phycological move) Nf7 8..Bc4(Fisher) a6? 9.Bxc 6 fxe6(positionally he is lost because if he did not capture, I had the < f5 square> 10.Nxe6 Qa5 (only square for the Queen) 11.Nxg+7...............you should know "The rest of the story".I sacrificed the Bishop because of his bed move.
Jul-12-15  MindCtrol9: I lost 25 games in a raw because I did notbhave internet.I quit playing for a while and I started to play again "online" just a month ago.I had my rating really low, but I'm coming back.I have 37 games and I don't. use programs(I hate to sheat I have. won 12 and 1 draw.I do not think too long playing online knowing many use computers, but computers make mistakes in the evaluation of. not this.My screen name is AlphaLevMDt.My % of winning is 62 and something 33% lost and 24 draws.I can play good and I can play bad, but all depends the guy I'm playing, if I play a low low rating, I play without paying attention and I lose.
