  ketchuplover: Dear Keti...

Commentators are expected to actually commentate. Oh and please speak up. Thank you.

Sep-04-17  whiteshark: Dear Keti...

don't worry. It's an open secret that if you put <I.Sokolov> in front of a mic you must be ready to get a continuous chess lecture for hours.

Sep-16-17  NightKnight: Dear Keti...

You represent the female chess very nicely. Nice, relaxed commenting that brings balance to the whole show.

MissScarlett: Why don't Georgians pronounce their <t>s?
Sep-17-17  ughaibu: Perhaps there are no 't's in their script.
Sep-17-17  ughaibu: If it's a phonetic limitation, for example, that they can't pronounce "t" because they prefer coffee, then they might end up saying "Harrylime loves the Beacoffee-els".

Bah, you're a rank amateur compared to Harry.

May-05-23  stone free or die: You might think you don't know her, but you do...

She hosted the press conferences at the 2023 WCC in Astana.

<CG> needs a photo of her - there must be one in PD...

(Apparently she's rather humble - I had to use a screenshot to find her name.)

Stonehenge: I have used the photo on her FIDE player card.
May-06-23  stone free or die: Thanks <stone>, that's a much more contemporary photograph of her, and rather stylish.

I hate to raise the issue, but are FIDE player photographs allowed to be used?

I'm not quite sure, even though SCID does have a large collection of them - but it's a strictly non-profit open source project. <CG> is commercial, so perhaps the rules are different?

I know <tab> has contacted <FIDE> before, and a request for permission would certainly clarify the matter.

I also know <FIDE> has allowed photos to be used for editorial purposes before - but with certain conditions/restrictions (e.g. credit):

http://candidates.fide.com/madrid20...

OTOH - I've also seen accusations of FIDE "filching" photos without permission themselves:

http://www.chessninja.com/dailydirt... (see <FIDE Filches Photos>

GettyImages has an entire section of FIDE stuff:

https://www.gettyimages.com/photos/...

(Note: Getty will also host PD photos, charging for printed reproductions)

Myself, I've always basically assumed the opinion voiced here about using <FIDE> player photos:

https://www.quora.com/Can-I-use-pic...

Of course I would love to hear what <FIDE> explicitly says on the matter.

Using google image search, I found another photo of KT licensed with creative commons from <Andreas Kontokani>:

May-06-23  stone free or die: Here's the interviewer herself being interviewed about her role in the WCC 2023:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7i3...

A funny observation of hers about the contestants -

Nepo - "I hear emotions. From Ian I very often hear heavy breathe, he's breathing very heavily ..."

Ding - "From Ding I sometimes heard giggling (she herself starts to giggle)..."

https://youtu.be/7i3kz85CY9s?t=55

Of course KT shows good taste beyond in fashion - often using Anand's tweets to outline her questions to the players!

In fact the video is entitled:

<"I really love Vishy Anand's Tweets" - WGM Keti Tsatsalashvili>

(FWIW - KT currently lives in Poland:

  Stonehenge: From Quora:

<Can I use pictures of the chess players from the FIDE pubic website on Wikipedia?>

Don't worry, I won't use any pubic photos.

May-06-23  stone free or die: OK, not sure I understand the subtlety though.

I assume you mean the pronunciation guide for her name?(*)

In no small part not likely after AnnieK's departure.

But when translating her Georgian name into English, Google translate offers a verbalization feature for the English part.

Press the speaker button on the right panel.

(*) Of course you might be wishing for voice samples of "sweet little nothings". That's even less likely.
