Jul-17-22  MMan: Stone showed up at the NY Open in 1986, saying he hadn't played in a clocked game of chess for about 50 years, then proceeded to win the 1800 and under section.

A 1400 and under + unrated section, said to be full of international "ringers", was won by a nine-year-old girl named Judit Polgar.

I think I've got an old Chess Life with a game of Stone's from the 1986 event. I'll look for it.
