Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-09-15  thomastonk: Two years ago, <Karpova> did some work on one or two players named <Springe>, see Biographer Bistro.

After an introduction, <Karpova> asked his crucial question: "So are <W Springe> from Munich and <Werner Springe> from Hamburg identical or not?"

The answer is: they are identical. In the "Bregenzer/Voralberger Tagblatt" of 17 Mai 1939, an announcement of a simultaneous exhibition appeared: http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/a.... Here, he is desribed as 'the chess master of the bavarian chess association and former head of the chess broadcast of radio station Munich, Werner Springe from Hamburg'.

So, we may now assume that also Springe vs Gebhard, 1927 and Springe vs K Junge, 1941 were played by him.
