Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-10-23  goodevans: A perfect example of 'castling into it'.
Dec-10-23  BxChess: Niemann likes those open files on the kingside.
Dec-10-23  EvanTheTerrible: It's hard to believe castling queenside was less dangerous for black than kingside from that position.
Dec-11-23  jerseybob: Hard to believe these two hot young players had never met before, at least according to this database. 17.Qb4 puts the queen on a surprisingly powerful square, attacking not only b7 and d6, but after 21.Ra4! the black kingside. Hard to say just where black went wrong, but his system needs a retool.

One name covers that: Carlsen.

One opponent here is now routinely playing in elite events with le grand maitre, while the other, it would seem, no longer will be.

Really? That's an interesting claim. To be more specific, can you please name which tournament(s) they <should've> met, "if it wasn't for Carlsen"?

Feb-19-24  Atking: It seems GM Gukesh missed the right track and was confused later. Instead of 14...Qg5 (Black Queen has still others options - squares- in hand), 14...h4 15.Nf5 BxN (Before Rf1 comes) 16.exN d5 17.Bb3 Nf6 and Qd6 for 0-0-0 Black seems to me clearly better.
