Jan-06-19  thegoodanarchist: I offer an alternative GOTD:

Lasker vs Steinitz, 1894

It is a much more significant and historic game than the one we have been presented by <Sargon>; it's the final game of the match in which Lasker won the Chess World Championship.

It was played in Montreal, Canada, and so the game of the day title could be <CanCon>, a pun on the Canadian Content law for radio play.

Or we could use the prosaic <End of an Era>, to refer to the end of Steinitz' reign as champ.

Jan-06-19  birimbombum: Far too complicated for me.
Jan-06-19  ChessHigherCat: LC was cowed.

Check It Out: Fun game. It took some technique for white to win, even a bishop up.
Jan-06-19  Ilkka Salonen: I provide this link because it doesn't happen every day that a 12-year-old beats a 2700 player, like Yoo did recently at Bay Area International against Le Quang Liem. https://2700chess.com/games/yoo-le-...

What's with the snark? In this game, a 12-year old up-and-coming American FM delivered a <smackdown> to a very experienced IM.

Inasmuch as there are 365 days in every year, I'm sure the game you linked to will make a fine Game of the Day at some point...

Feb-08-21  Saniyat24: beautiful game...beautiful positions by the pieces...you won't see a game like this everyday...!
