Oct-05-16 | | Xeroxx: Benjamin Bok, wow. Great game, man. |
Oct-05-16 | | WorstPlayerEver: Revanche of the Bokster |
Oct-05-16
 | | HeMateMe: wild game. Congrats to Bok. |
Oct-05-16 | | dumbgai: Naka got totally outplayed by Bok, straight up. Masterful play by black. |
Oct-05-16
 | | perfidious: It would seem that in this game Naka was served a rather large helping of his speciality: killtown to go. |
Oct-05-16 | | transpose: <perfidious> is correct. When I first saw this game, I was certain Nakamura was black, and so I was confused as I knew Nakamura had lost. It took me a moment to realize Nakamura was white, and got a dose of his own medicine. Congrats to Bok for playing a magnificent attack. |
Oct-06-16 | | Pulo y Gata: What a win, against the world's foremost KID practitioner today no less. This is the type of win that reminds us why we play the King's Indian. Bravo! |
Oct-06-16 | | whiteshark: CB round report w/ games annotated (+tests): http://en.chessbase.com/post/isle-o... |
Oct-06-16 | | wordfunph: The article, however, says this was not a King's Indian but a Benoni. Must be why Nakamura lost his way. |
Oct-06-16 | | Pulo y Gata: It looks, truly, like the son of sorrow early on. But such is truth that it transmogrifies to tantalize tellers of tales. A good win, in any case. |
Oct-07-16 | | patzer2: The computers indicate 16. g4 Ne5 = to (-0.47 @ 31 depth, Stockfish 160715) loses the White advantage and turns the game slightly in Black's favor. Instead, 16. Ne4 Qg6 17. Kh1 = (0.10 @ 27 depth, Komodo 8) appears to give White even or better chances. |
Oct-08-16 | | Chesstorian72: Garbagemura needs to quit already, he gets destroyed by an old bum Kasparov then he draws against a patzer at the Olympiad and now he gets his butt kicked by some nobody bum Gm, what an embarrassment to chess. |
Oct-09-16 | | thegoodanarchist: Why not 33.Rxh4 Bd4+ 34. Rxd4? |
Oct-09-16
 | | scormus: I confess to being confused as I played through. I hadnt checked the result and I imagined Naka was going to win, but at about move 16 I was thinking "he's sure goes about it in a funny way .... but that's Naka for you." The more it went on the less convincing his gme looked. <patzer2 16 g4> I thought it looked rather dubiuos at the time, especially with Ne4 looking the natural move. Later <22 Nf6+?> is even worse. The Ne4 was W's most active piece, it couldnt be attacked by a pawn so why not support it with Nbc3 and connect the Rs as well? Insted he gives it up for modest material gain |
Oct-09-16 | | 7he5haman: <<thegoodanarchist>> 33.Rxh4 Nxh4 34.Rg5+ Bg7 35.Kh2 Rf8 36.Kh3 Nf5 and Black is a piece up |
Oct-09-16 | | goodevans: <MissScarlett: <Naka-Bok-oh-glory>> So much better than the chosen pun! |
Oct-09-16 | | WorstPlayerEver: If one plays 3. f3 what *ambitions* should one have to win the game? Like: "I really couldn't find a lazier move to secure the draw." |
Oct-09-16 | | savagerules: 3 f3 is to avoid the regular Gruenfeld and try to get a Saemish King's Indian. I wonder if Black thought about 4...Nxe4!? two pawns for the piece and White's king in the open. |
Oct-09-16
 | | MissScarlett: <So much better than the chosen pun!> Yes, that would've been the cherry on top. This problem with this site is i) it's too American, and ii)there are too many foreigners. |
Oct-09-16 | | morphynoman2: 16. g4? is unsound and nonsense. |
Oct-09-16 | | not not: yeah 16. Ne4 gains an extra move by attacking black queen 16. g4 just weakens king's shelter; move in a spirit of Alekhine: super-aggressive, bullying attitude yet deeply flawed MissScarlet's comment
"it's too American, and there are too many foreigners" sounds like a definition of planet Earth - out of Texas' school handbook |
Oct-09-16
 | | perfidious: <not not> What is worse is that the <Divine Miss S> is not even American: he is simply a bigot who would be rid of all those who are not like himself. |
Oct-10-16 | | thegoodanarchist: <7he5haman: <<thegoodanarchist>> 33.Rxh4 Nxh4 34.Rg5+ Bg7 35.Kh2 Rf8 36.Kh3 Nf5 and Black is a piece up> Thanks,
I overlooked 34...Bg7! |
Oct-10-16 | | kevin86: Queen and knight for a rook and a bishop:advantage: black. |
Oct-10-16 | | 7he5haman: No problem! Took me a while to find it too :-) |
