Mar-13-16  Karposian: <FSR> A very creative solution :)
Mar-13-16  Karposian: I think Naka should have played h4. Black can't get to that pawn, and it takes away the g5-square for Black's king.
Mar-13-16  raju17: Black is well prepared to counter h4?
Mar-13-16  Karposian: Oh, never mind. I see that Naka has indeed played h4.
Mar-13-16  Karposian: Now it's a draw, I think.

HeMateMe: seems drawn now. Nak exchanged the right pawns. you can't win with a pawn on the h file.

tamar: After Nxg6 Rxh2! Naka could claim a draw. Lack of mating material

FSR: Looks like Naka holds easily.
Mar-13-16  Ulhumbrus: Was there any need for Svidler to exchange f pawns? This may make it easier for Nakamura to draw unless there is some reason why the presence of the h pawns makes the e pawn more dangerous

Penguincw: I don't think they need it, but 15 minutes will be added at move 60 (plus an increment). Also, tomorrow is a Rest Day.

Endgame Explorer: RPP vs RP

46.5% win for superior side, 51.6% draw, this game looking drawish.

tamar: Like Svidler, but glad to see Nakamura save this.
Mar-13-16  Karposian: <Ulhumbrus: Was there any need for Svidler to exchange f pawns?>

There is also the question of whether Svidler shuld have kept the knights on, instead of allowing the knight swap with 51...Rb2.

Mar-13-16  bellythekid: Yes a draw indeed!!!😕

Penguincw: Yep, this game is drawn. Thanks for the broadcast <cg> despite threats from some unknown organization.

Tomorrow will be a Rest Day, but R9 of the Women's Championship will take place.

FYI: Endgame Explorer: RP vs R

RP vs. P is a win 45.5%, draw 54.3%.

Mar-13-16  SirRuthless: Struggling to make draws with white is not the way to go but it beats losing. Hopefully Nakamura will play clean games after the rest day.

Mar-13-16  Everett: <Mar-13-16 tamar: Pull FinalGen off Bxh2 Spassky-Fischer and get us a verdict here.>

Haha

Mar-13-16  spysfi: Take a look at 8:03 in this video:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0HL08...

Svidler is asking Hikaru if he won Carlsen. It seems to me that he is acting like his mentor, or at least they are close friends. Am I wrong?

Mar-13-16  SirRuthless: I don't know how close they are but they have a good report during analysis. Nakamura usually has good things to say about Svidler. In this event they are professional opponents.
Mar-14-16  SirRuthless: *rapport
Mar-15-16  Chessinfinite: A great game , very interesting struggle.
Mar-15-16  RookFile: Naka showed a lot of grit in hanging onto this draw.
