Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-20-15  Imran Iskandar: White played a move that allows mate in ONE! Reminds me of Deep Fritz vs. Kramnik. Also, this mating pattern is quite rare.
Jul-20-15  Imran Iskandar: It should also be mentioned that White was better according to the engines, prior to the very unfortunate 21. Rh3??.
Jul-20-15  fisayo123: Yeah, the miss mate in one game. What's even more surprising is that he had a lot of time when he moved his rook.

I felt Vidit was somewhat unlucky in this tournament. He's an extremely talented and underrated player. Anyway, he has a new fan in myself.

Jul-20-15  1 2 3 4: <Imran Iskandar: Also, this mating pattern is quite rare.> Who cares? It's a pattern.
Jan-05-16  notyetagm: S Vidit vs R Hovhannisyan, 2015

Game Collection: LEFT BEHIND (DRAWBACK CHESS -- M. ASHLEY) 21 Rh1-h3?? leaves behind the f1-sq for 21 ... Qc4-f1#

Jan-05-16  Robed.Bishop: With a rating of 2643, I guarantee you that he had a jolt of shock run through him when black moved and announced checkmate.
