Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-01-14  Marmot PFL: Lucky win for Ivanchuk-

20...Rxh2! 21 Kxh2 Qxf2+ and 22...Re5 and black wins

25...Bb8! also wins ex 26 Qxa5 Be4 27 f3 Bxg3

31...Bxe3+! 32 Nxe3 Rh2+ is another missed win

and finally 50...g5 is still a winning ending before black finally blunders and loses.

Anyway this game shows that the Budapest Opening can be very dangerous for white, especially in these Ra6-Rh6 (or Rg6) lines.

FSR: I have a correspondence game against the Budapest and was hoping Ivanchuk could turn me onto a good line to play against it. Despite Ivanchuk's (miraculous) success, I will <not> be playing this line in my game.
May-22-14  nnnnnnnn: What about 50...g5? Isn't it also winning?!
