Apr-27-11  hungry hippo: time controls for this game: White started with 45 min, black started with 19 min and 55sec but had draw odds. There was a 5 sec increment after every move.
Apr-28-11  Imposter: 28...Bd7 followed by 29...Rf8 might have held.

FSR: 4.f3 is supposed to be harmless, but Sam also shanked Onischuk with it: S Shankland vs Onischuk, 2011.
Apr-28-11  luzhin: A model game to study for anyone who wants to know about the dynamics of the Nimzo. Hess set quite a nice trap:if Shankland had played 17.Nxg4?? then 17...Nxg4! 18.Bxe7 Rxh1+ 19.Bf1 Rxf1+! 20.Kxf1 Nxe3+. The final blow 29.Bh5! simply threatens 30.Bxf7 and if 29...Qf8 then 30.g6 is murder.

Richard Taylor: I play the Nimzo and I find that 4 f3 is hard to get around. I played the main line... e.g.

I am considering trying now 7. ... exd5 as although I won this I lost another game after 12. Bb5 which I thnk is better for White, and also there is a line where White sacrifices a piece on d5 for passed pawns etc

I think 12. ... Nc6 is better but 15. ... a6 seems better also.

I've seen that Nh5 idea in game also.

Richard Taylor: I also dabble with the Benoni and have had some success with it but it is very different kind of opening.
