perfidious: Despite its popoularity in recent years, I wonder whether Bruzon's choice of the 'Berlin Wall' was wise against a player of Kamsky's impeccable technical skills.

  tamar: Not waiting to see the finish 63...Kg7 64 h8Q Kxh8 65 Kf8 bishop any 66 Bh6 bishop any 67 Bg7 mate
Oct-03-10  Gilmoy: <tamar:> 8<4.h8=Q+> 84.Bh6+ also leads to the same mate (even after 85..Bxh7).
Oct-03-10  abscissa: Oh my god. This game is unbelievably similar to Ivanchuk-Shirov of the Bazna King Tournament in 2009, white won in 84!! moves (ALMOST EXACTLY SAME AS THIS GAME) in the same exact crazy and astonishing final position.

  tamar: Ivanchuk vs Shirov, 2009

Crazily similar finish. I was besieged by feelings of deja vu, but could not remember the game, until <abscissa> mentioned it.

Even the discussion of the alternate mate happened!

Oct-03-10  piteira8: There was no fix in this game. Lazaro was done by Castro's (internet) bandwith rationing.
