Nov-16-09  ounos: I think Carlsen has come of age that he should avoid playing attractive females :)

HeMateMe: You think he fell victim to the Distraction Variation? Not analyzed in MCO, yet it is a powerful weapon. One giggle and a wink may have been worth a pawn, with no compensation!
Nov-17-09  Billy Vaughan: <One giggle and a wink may have been worth a pawn, with no compensation!>

How do you know there was no compensation? :)

Nov-17-09  Hortensius: Comon, this is not yet a loss for white! It's uncomfortable, but far from lost...
Nov-17-09  DeltaHawk: Carlsen just was too overconfident and wanted to impress a beautiful female.
Nov-17-09  HermesTrismegistus: <Comon, this is not yet a loss for white! >

In your point of view, Magnus should not resigned? I think you did not see the live broadcast of this game. You failed to mention Carlsen's time.

Nov-17-09  TheMacMan: 43...Rb1! kosteniuk owns carlsen :)
Nov-17-09  panzerkampf: he is suffering from his age, still a teenager with highly affected by hormones. otherwise it is hard to explain beating ivanchuk with black and being defeated by kosteniuk
Nov-17-09  firebyrd: <It's uncomfortable, but far from lost...>

The video feed shows Carlsen starting to play 43. R3e2, which is a losing blunder. He changes his mind, but alas, he has already touched the Re3, so the move 43. R1e2 is invalid and he loses on the spot.

Actually 43. R1e2 should be removed from the score.

Nov-17-09  Travis Bickle: Maybe the concentration of a young man like Magnus was thrown off by the tactics of Alexandra's beauty. ; P

tpstar: Turn to seduction from face, hips, to feet/A wiggle and a jiggle can make the night complete/Now since you got the Body of the Year, come and get the award/Here's a hint: it's like a long sharp sword

Did Carlsen really leave the board without shaking hands?!

Nov-17-09  psmith: The comments here are remarkably uniform in their sexism.

Why shouldn't Kosteniuk beat Carlsen, once? Carlsen just made a mistake. He isn't an immortal.

Nov-17-09  psmith: and of course the explanation of this game: Kosteniuk vs Anand, 2009 is that Anand was overcome by her looks.
Nov-17-09  ounos: "Hey, Magnus, I know you're thinking your next move, but how about checking google first, to get a broader view of the position: http://bostonchess.com/wp-content/u... "
Nov-17-09  Bdellovibrio: <Why shouldn't Kosteniuk beat Carlsen, once? Carlsen just made a mistake. He isn't an immortal.> Thank you. All credit should be to Kosteniuk, who played well in a complicated middlegame against one of the very best.
Nov-17-09  ILikeFruits: how can...
you lose...
to a...
girl...
cooties...
hello how...
are you...
Nov-17-09  yoyosd: I love how people pretend Kosteniuk is actually attractive outside of chess playing women. She rates as a 5 if 5 is average. People are clearly attracted to the fact that she plays chess, but if she was standing in a bar I'd be making fun of the friend who took her home that night.
Nov-17-09  TheMacMan: i have now lost all respect for carlsen after seeing the video of him getting angry slamming the table and walking away without even shaking kosteniuks hand, that is very childish. accept your lost like a man
Nov-17-09  Cercatore: I can't find the video of this match.

I looked youtube, can someone link me the video, please?

Nov-17-09  TheBB: <Why shouldn't Kosteniuk beat Carlsen, once? Carlsen just made a mistake. He isn't an immortal.>

Welcome to CG.com, where the national sport is dry humour. Try some, it is excellent.

No-one here seriously believes Kosteniuk sex-bombed Carlsen into oblivion.

Nov-17-09  Travis Bickle: <psmith: The comments here are remarkably uniform in their sexism.

Why shouldn't Kosteniuk beat Carlsen, once? Carlsen just made a mistake. He isn't an immortal.> Would Fischer lose to a 2500 at blitz at Carlsen's age?

Nov-17-09  Travis Bickle: <TheMacMan: i have now lost all respect for carlsen after seeing the video of him getting angry slamming the table and walking away without even shaking kosteniuks hand, that is very childish. accept your lost like a man> Yes I agree! Shake her hand and then go to your hotel room and punch the walls in! LMAO!!

I bet the girls you pick up in a bar when you have beer goggles make you cry in the morning LOL!!
Nov-17-09  shortsight: Carlsen not only inherited Kasparov's repertoire, but also his bad temper!
