chancho: Taking the Bishop is a no go for white.
(33.Kxh2 Qxh4+ 34.Kg1 Qf2+ 35.Kh1 Rh8+)
But how does black win after 33.Kh1?
Jul-18-08  myschkin: seems to be hopeless also:
33.Kh1
33...Qxh4 34.Re6+ Kxe6 35.Qc4+ Ke7 36.Bh3 Qxh3 37.Qe2 Bg3+ 38.Kg1 Rf1+ 39.Qxf1 Qh2#

  chancho: <myschkin> What about 33...Qxh4 34.Qb7+ Ke8 35.Rc8+
Jul-18-08  lopium: I don't see this at all. For me white wins here or get at least a draw! 33.Kh1, if Qxh4, then 34.Qb7+ which leads to a win or a draw, I can't see. But in any case, not 34.Re6+.
Jul-18-08  myschkin: Black can interfere with the following:

34...Bc7+ 35.Bh3 Qxh3+ 36.Kg1 Qf1#

Jul-18-08  lopium: <Black can interfere with the following:

34...Bc7+ 35.Bh3 Qxh3+ 36.Kg1 Qf1#> Wow, I didn't see the discovered check in order to block a check!

perfidious: This event took place in Lowell, Mass-while I played in numerous NE Opens (1973, '77, '80-'87 and this one), none of those were held in Framingham.
Aug-25-11  whiteshark: <26.Rxd6!> looks like a serious alternative.

perfidious: Mutual time shortage reared its head in this fierce battle.

The position before Yedidia's final move is worth a puzzle.
