Jan-21-15  MNW: This game seemed kind of unexciting and, in my opinion, shouldn't have been game of the day. Though well-played by white, it was played poorly by black. Typical play with a dry opening and was only game of the day because of the pun, but of course this is just my opinion.
Jan-21-15  Moszkowski012273: LORD this "endgame" plays itself.....Not the best stuff black, not the best stuff.
Jan-21-15  Moszkowski012273: Though the kid was only 13.... Guess he gets a pass.
Jan-21-15  Cheapo by the Dozen: I don't get the "Green".
Jan-21-15  ndg2: Black should have tried to prepare e5 to play against white's center. Move d5 was a positional error that played into white's hands. Once The center was closed, white's flank attack was unstoppable.

Sneaky: <I don't get the "Green".> Lawrence Day was in his early twenties, he was "green'; inexperienced.
Jan-21-15  Moszkowski012273: Not 20's,,,,, 13.
Jan-21-15  morfishine: Interesting game with a sudden end. Nice pun too once one figures out how young Mr. Lawrence Day was when he played this

IMlday: I was so green that this was the first time I faced a master. But I learned a good lesson in how playing 0-0 & ..h5 can allow irresistible mating attacks. This insight produced lots of points, even against masters. Compare this game L Day vs E Vano, 1980
