Apr-29-08  whiteshark: Black's last three moves were bad, worse and worst.
Apr-29-08  clma55: Why not 34. Qxb5 with a sweet pawn and simplification?
May-01-08  safar: <clma55: Why not 34. Qxb5 with a sweet pawn and simplification?> Because 34. Rb6 simply recovers the pawn.
May-01-08  safar: 42. Bxb5! Neat! If 42...Bxb5 43.Qxe5 threatening Qxg7# and Qxb5.
Aug-08-08  patzer2: The move 42. Bxb5! might make for a good Tuesday or Wednesday puzzle.

As <safar> observes, 42. Bxb5! creates a neat double attack threat after 42...Bxb5 43. Qxe5! (threatening both Qxg7# and Qxb5).

I also found the finale 43. Ne3! amusing, creating a double attack while obstructing Black's attacking threat. If 43...Rd6, then the Knight Fork 44. Nc4 is sufficient.

The move 42. Bxb5! might make for a good Tuesday or Wednesday puzzle.
